Cambugahay Falls

To get to Cambugahay Falls you actually have to go down the side of a cliff. Thankfully there are concrete stairs all the way down. However, the steps down to Cambugahay falls are huge! And, there are over 100 steps! My legs cramped ... on the way down! All the brochures I've seen Cambugahay Falls make you think that the falls are huge. The falls are actually small. The tallest is roughly the height of a person, as you can see in the photo above. What makes Cambugahay Falls distinctive is the number of falls - there are several! As soon as you reach the bottom of the stairs, you'll be greeted by the first one. This is where most of the visitors go swimming. We opted to go upstream to see the other falls. It was a nice walk where you crossed the rushing water a few times. Some of the rocks are slippery so be careful. You don't want to end up like my sister who lost her slipper! hahaha! Fortunately, our guide ran after it and was able to retrieve it before it disappeared downstream. As you go upstream, the view becomes less and less interesting because the falls get smaller as you go along. The best thing to do then is to find a nice spot to go swimming. The water is clean and cool. It was a wonderful swimming experience. I wasn't looking forward to the return up the stairs though. Again, my legs cramped on the way up.
