Mt. Bandilaan National Park

Mt. Bandilaan is the highest point in Siquijor. It's a long and tiring journey up. You can tell how far you are from the summit because you visit the Stations of the Cross along the way! So when you reach the 10th station, you know that you're almost there. Mt. Bandilaan is also home to the grotto above called the Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine. When you reach the summit, you are greeted by 3 large iron crosses that represent where Jesus Christ was crucified. Behind the crosses is an iron structure which you can continue climbing for a spectacular view of Siquijor. It was rather cloudy and windy that day so we couldn't see anything. Though our guide did tell us you can see Dumaguate and other provinces from there. You go down the other side where our jeep was waiting for us. It was a much shorter walk! If I knew that beforehand I wouldn't have bothered going through the Stations of the Cross! hehehe.
