Malcapuya Island

This is a private island with a white sand beach. You need to hire a boat to take you there. It's a rather expensive trip because the island is an hour away from SeaDive. We were able to hire a boat for the entire day for 2,500 pesos - though we were able to go to other places of interest as well using the same boat.

The entrance fee is 100 pesos.

You have to bring your own food though because there are no stores or restaurants on the island. We purchased cooked rice, fresh fish and other condiments from the public market. Our boatman was kind enough to grill our fresh fish on the island itself. Voila! We had an instant picnic.

The island also has a resident pet pig. His name is DingDong. He's named after the famous local actor who has the same skin tone!

In my opinion, I wouldn't go to Coron just to go to Malcapuya. There are so many other places of interest in Coron that you can't see anywhere else. So we just stayed for lunch and left soon after. We actually spent more time on the boat going to Malcapuya and back than on the island itself.
